Almost there
Almost there
I know you’re there
Maybe already in the room
Or maybe just about to arrive
Getting out of the car
Stepping into the hall
Taking of your coat
I feel the energy change
Like it always does
When you step into a space
Casually smiling as you enter
Lifting your left eyebrow so slightly
That no one else would notice
I hear your deep voice
The low tones vibrating in the air
Sending a shiver down my spine
Ordering your favourite drink
Laughing at the bartenders joke
Effortlessly at ease
I fight to urge to turn around
Instead I let the tension build
Trusting all that is to come
