Magic
Magic
I am sitting on a tree trunk
Sunbeams warming my face
I hear the sounds of this wood
And feel the magic of this place
Morning dew drops softly land
Birds are singing loud and clear
Waking up the frogs and fish
Sounds arrive from far and near
I’ve heard it all before
But not like I did today
When I look around I see
A hundred different types of green
Soft leaves, long grasses and beautiful trees
More variety than I have ever seen
A deer hops across the land
I sport another one behind a tree
I sit here so very still
And let this woodland just be
I’ve seen it all before
But never in this way
There is a stillness inside me
Like there has only been at night
I don’t have to talk or think
Today I shine my inner light
There are no hesitations
No doubts, no inner critique
There is no double standard
No more sorry when I speak
I’ve dreamed it all before
But dreams did never stay
The forest is letting me know
That dreams really can come true
There is magic everywhere I go
Opening my eyes is all I have to do
I get up from my trunk
Feel the wind touch my skin
I will forever keep this feeling
Of magic deep within
